Exercise & calories

Hi, need some advice !! Started doing this beginning of the year, I am 58, female and 11-10, and was having a steady weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week, but have recently started going to Zumba followed by a boom interval class, twice a week, lasting 1 hour 45 minutes, but my weight loss has stopped, last week only lost 1/2 lb, disappointed don't come close, I eat 1200 calories per day, could it be I am not eating enough to compensate for the exercising ?? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

it could be water retention from new exercise.
it could be your eating more than you realise.
do you weigh and measure everything?

It will not be you are not eating enough. You lost a 1/2 pound so your weight loss did not stop.

But if you find that you are in a repeated stall after a couple of weeks use the chart. It is pretty much 100% fool proof as long as a person doe not have a medical condition they are not disclosing.

Hi, thanks for the replies, yes, I am logging everything - do you think 1200 calories per day is about right ?? Thanks

Too much exercise. No workout should EVER exceed 45 mins. 30 mins is optimal.

Big disappointment this morning, weighed myself and stayed the same - only weigh myself once a week on a Sunday morning and had been so careful this week, could it be I am not eating enough as do 2 Zumba classes and 2 60 minute high intensity work outs per week so is 1200 calories a week enough ?? Feel like having a big fry up for breakfast- what's the point !!! Any help would be welcome !!! Thanks

Weight loss isn't linear. You need to look at your trends over weeks and months.

You need to eat back about 50% of the calories from your exercise.

Don't give up. The point is that having a calorie deficit over time will result in weight loss over time.
