Do you think if I eat at maintenance for one day out of the week (usually Saturdays) it will effect my weight loss goal? I'm set to lose .5 a week and just started recently doing this as to let myself have a little more wiggle room on the weekend

    No, go for it. Go 1 calorie over. Gotta treat yourself in a little extra some times.

    If you're at deficit six days a week and you eat at maintenance one day a week, you're still at a deficit for the week.

    All things being equal, you would lose less weight than you would with seven days of a deficit, but lots of people do this and still meet their goals.

    This is what I do. Eat for 1 pound lost per week Friday through Wednesday. Eat at maintenance Thursday.
