What to do when you're already hungry for lunch at 11

... and you need work until 5 or 6, then go to the gym, and finally eat dinner around 8.
My solution is to go ahead and eat, planning on another snack around 3. Still, it's a struggle to get through the day.

Great choice!0

Go ahead and eat, and then plan to eat something different for breakfast tomorrow and see if it helps you make it to lunch better!0

My lunch includes items that can be used for snacks (because I normally forget to eat at snack times). If I'm hungry to fat before lunch and I know I need to eat something later so fuel a workout I will have one of the snack items to keep me going until lunchtime.0

For lunch: I tell myself that being a little hungry isn't going to kill me and that I can wait an hour.
Do you normally eat dinner so late? Or is it just because you're going to the gym. I personally would plan ahead if I was going to be eating a few hours later than normal and bring a snack to eat on my way to the gym. Then I would eat a lighter supper when I got home (usually a pre-gym snack would come out of my dinner calories).0 -
i eat lunch around 11 anyways, most days LOL0

Happens to me quite a bit these days.
I tend to whine about it to my work colleague, who whines right back because she's in the same situation. Then we go make a cup of tea and settle down for another hour of work while sipping on our tea.
If the cup of tea doesn't work, we find an excuse to run errands to distract ourselves (yes, that document really HAS to be brought to the department furthest from our desk and yes it has to be done in person and no, it cannot wait).
If that doesn't help, we eat a cookie, shrug our shoulders and eat the equivalent of one cookie less as lunch.
I noticed that I tend to get hungry (and unable to ignore it) when I don't have enough work to keep me busy. I'll forget to eat when I'm engrossed in my work. So for me it tends to be boredom speaking and not really hunger.

I usually get hungry around 11 but my lunch isn't until 12:30. I eat an 80 calorie Greek yogurt and I'm good to go 'til lunch.0

Lately I've been getting hungry at 11:30 so I go ahead and eat then. In the afternoon I have a cup of hot tea to hold me over until dinner. I eat dinner around 5:45-6 though.0

Hungry at 11 means you didn't eat enough breakfast.0

Big glass of water and maybe a small snack.0

I spread my snacks out throughout the day and don't usually eat a big breakfast or lunch.
I wake up at ~0500, and often don't get a lunch break until 1400 or even later (if I get one at all), and I don't get home till around 1945 most days, so I eat a small but protein-heavy breakfast, and I pack a lunch bag of things that I can eat quickly like protein bars in the appropriate number of calories for the day, and eat them as needed. Some days are more physically demanding than others and it's unpredictable, so I usually include a couple of extra snacks in case it's a hellacious day and I'm ravenous, to prevent a vending machine raid on those days.
If I do get a lunch break, I usually have a freezer meal that's roughly the same number of calories as each of my snacks. Then I have a biggish dinner that uses up the rest of my calories when I finally get home at night.
~200 calories at 0900, 1200, and 1500, holds me a lot better than eating a 600 calorie lunch at noon after starving all morning, and then starving till dinner.0 -
It happened today. I usually eat lunch at or after noon but I was pretty hungry at 11. I waited 30 minutes (did some walking) and then ate lunch a bit early.
I'll probably have a snack around 3 or 4 and dinner around 6-7.

Why's that?0 -
I eat lunch early everyday- I eat ALL my meals early. I start my day at 5 am (gym by 530 am) so breakfast is at 730 am and I close kitchen by 6 pm (dinner eaten, cleaned up etc) only fruit for snack at night
works for me. Ive been at goal for months0 -
I eat breakfast with protein, an egg or protein smoothie.
I keep my work bag loaded with snack; veggies, and fruits cut up and nuts.
Lunch.
Then more snacks
Then dinner.0 -
im at work with a hangover today and starving
i usually pack breakfast, snacks and a lunch
today were having a work lunch so i didnt pack a lunch...and somehow i forgot to pack snacks and breakfast as well.
im starving and cant leave the office. all i have had is an apple.0 -
I pop a bag of 100 calorie popcorn and drive my co-workers crazy with the smell. I'm that biotch.0

If I haven't had anything to eat then I eat lunch at 11 a.m. I might have a 3 p.m. snack as I'm supposed to being diabetic but I might not depending on how heavy the lunch was. I normally try to have dinner at 6 p.m. since I get reflux if I eat later than 8 p.m.0

I have small snacks throughout the day. Breakfast is around 730 when I get here, I have a snack between 10 and 10:30, lunch at 12:45, a snack around 3:30, home at 6:00, workout, dinner around 7:30, and sometimes a 100 cal popcorn bag before bed if I'm hungry0
-
Eat more often! I eat smaller meals and snacks at 7am, 10am, lunch at noon, snack at 3ish, then dinner when I get to it, if it is going to be late, I eat something arounf 5:30 too. I am hungry all day long, but that is OK, it keeps your metabolism up. Just spread your calories out a little more. I pack non-fat plain greek yogurt with some granola, a little container of fruit, and protein bars. I always eat a few snacks at work.0
-
If I'm really hungry at 11, I'll go ahead and begin eating my lunch. And try to eat it slowly to make it last closer to whatever normal lunch time is. Alternatively, I'll try to have an apple or some other acceptable snack that will help bridge the gap until lunchtime.0

For a while, my breakfast was:
- 2 eggs (scrambled), 2 pieces of toast with reduced sugar jam, and a tsp of sriracha on my eggs.
I thought that would be filling because of the eggs, but I actually found myself feeling hungry by 11, or even sooner. I normally eat my breakfast between 7-7:30am.
Now, my breakfast is:
- 2 eggs (scrambled), 1 piece of toast, and 1/2 avocado mashed and placed on the toast, and a tsp of sriracha on the eggs.
I still eat between 7-7:30am, but now I'm not hungry until 12 or even 12:30pm. I took away a carb and added a healthy fat, and I feel full, longer. I also try and drink 4 cups of water between the time I eat breakfast to right after lunch. I always drink at least a cup before I eat my meals.
Maybe add some more protein and healthy fats in your breakfast? I made a little change in my breakfast and it has helped keep me from snacking too early.0 -
Often have my lunch at 11! Just stay within your calories and you will lose xx0

Alternately, remember that hunger isn't an emergency.0
-
I often end up having lunch at 11am unfortunately... unless I eat a huge breakfast, I'm rarely full for longer than 3 hours.0
-
Happens to me every day and has also happened when I was heavier. I don't see it as a problem it usually goes away again after a little bit and I always eat my lunch at 1-1:30 and by that time I'm fine again.0
