HRM question?

I just started using a HRM this week, a Sportline 915. It doesn't have a chest monitor, you place a finger on it to check your rate. It suggest while working out to take readings through out, which is fine. My question is: How long into a "cool down" do you take a reading? Do you need to stop when your rate gets to a certain point? Thanks!

I'm not for sure, but I usually wait till my heart rate is in the low 90s before I take it.0

It kind of depends on what you are doing. I use mine to keep me in my zone so i try to not rest to much and i would take it after your breathing starts to ease. when you are working the hardest you will be sucking wind and you need to use the monitor to show you when your body says your recovered. Your brain will lie to you and try and make you quit early or fool you into thinking you are working harder than you really are. Use that HRM to see where you are in your zone.0
