Am I doing this right?

Trying to eat about 750 or 1000 calorie deficit.
I use fitbit zip to calculate my TDEE (which shows my average is 3000 calories burned during 24 hours)
I use MFP to to track my calorie intake (I set it to 2000 calories a day which includes 3 meals and 3 snacks)
My stats are: Male, age 33, weight 200 lbs, height 5 foot & 9 inches.
I want to lose 25 lbs. I just want to make sure that the above plan will work.
My diary is open if you want to check it.
thanks for your time!

Sounds about right. Just remember in about a month, if you are losing too slow or too fast, then adjust your calories up or down to get to the weekly weight loss you want. Also, remember to readjust your calories every 10lbs or so as you lose.0

I would imagine it would work. Seems like a larger deficit than you really need with only 25lbs to lose. The less you have to lose, the lower your deficit should be to make sure you're losing fat and not muscle mass.
Main thing I would suggest is to get a good digital food scale to weigh everything. It's really easy to overestimate what you're eating, which can lower your deficit without you knowing it! You also don't have to change your whole diet, simply learn what proper portions of food are and fit them into your day. I have no idea if you've changed your whole diet, but throwing that advice out there just in case.0 -
My initial plan is to lose 25 lbs and then see if I can lose another 15 lbs.
I also haven't linked the fitbit zip to mfp as it makes me keep checking how many calories I have earned every hour.
I found it more convenient to keep them separate.
I earn my calories burned mostly by walking on average 15000 steps every day.0
