Coffee

I just started drinking coffee this week. I am using Splenda and no more than 4 teaspoons of fat free vanilla milk. I have been caffeine free for over 3 years and don't want to get addicted to it, but I really love the taste and warmth. I only drink at work and they do not have decaffeinated coffee. So should it be chucked, bring my own decaf, or just drink the caffeine because it has benefits too?

Everything (in terms of foodstuffs) in moderation, in my humble opinion!

It depends on what it is you're concerned about. There's no need to abstain from coffee if you want it. If you would do better with decaf, then bring in your own. I know personally, my body is sensitive to caffeine and can only handle small amounts before noon. (And noon is a hard limit for me, noon-ish and I'll be up all night)

But coffee is delicious. Mmmm... coffee...

Agreed, it sounds like caffeine is your issue. Was it a big deal to become "caffeine free for over 3 years"; did you have a problem with it before?

If you decide to mess with decaf, I like "Nescafe Taster's Choice Decaf House Blend" a lot. It's instant powder. It comes in canisters or little single-serving packets.
