Eating out

It's literally impossible to track calories accurately when eating out!
I love eating out and it's my main source of socialising but it's just not possible when wanting to calorie count. Does anyone manage to eat out regularly and still lose weight ?

I eat out a couple times a week but, it's usually just for something predictable like on Wednesdays I have a couple chicago style hotdogs. They have signs up advertising the brand of dogs and buns so it's easy to conclude how many calories are in one roughly. If it's something that's not particularly easy i try to find something similar and overestimate a bit. If i'm hungry towards the end of the day it means i estimated wrong more than likely.

Could you order a salad? Try it. You might like it.
Just ask for a low fat dressing on the side.
    I love salads.

On days I eat out I try to exercise more and eat a little lighter earlier in the day. I eat out once a week and Ive consistantly been losing weight for 1.5 years . Before I receive the meal I log it to see how much it will be and that helps me determine if I should eat the whole thing or just part of it. Try to listen to your body to determine when you are full. Of course you can't be extremely accurate but eating out is part of socializing, so it's good to learn how to deal with it

I eat out regularly and still lose consistently. If I am at a place that doesn't post nutrition, which most places I go don't, I try to find something similar in the database. If there a multiple similar entries I choose the highest calorie entry just to be safe. I also try to get more exercise in on the weekends when I tend to eat out the most so I have a bit of a cushion. This method has worked well for me.
