Fitbit vs. manually adding exercise

I just came back from a half hour+ walk and my fitness pal said that would be about 150 cal however my fit bit says I've walked about 2000 steps and that is 109 cal. Do I just use whatever the fit bit automatically links with my fitness pal or should I enter my exercise manually?

Let Fitbit handle all step based activity (walking, running, it's even good at step based aerobics like Zumba or dancing). Use manual entries for non-step activity, like swimming, cycling, strength training, etc.0

Does your fitbit track your heartrate? Typically it will be more accurate because it bases your calorie burn rate on how fast your heart is beating.0
