Fitness tracker that will track elliptical?

Hi! Does anyone know of a decent inexpensive tracker that will track your elliptical steps/calories? Would you wear it on your ankle for that to record? Thanks in advance!

I started picking up my feet just a little with each revolution because my feet were going numb and it started tracking my steps. I have jawbone up0
