HI... I am a 43yr old women who started menopause at age 38yrs old. Always had a great stomach area until this started. I have been eating health (I think) for years and work out at the local Y taking strength training classes (Body Pump) and cycle classes. Just starting to do the treadmill. I keep gaining weight!!! I am hoping to God this helps. Tip from my NP after having all my blood work tested and coming back perfect

I'm happy to hear your blood work looks good! It's always great when someone gets serious about fitness before their blood work goes all to heck. I think what you'll find is that there's no magic trick for the stomach area; it's just where your body wants to put the extra pounds when you get them. To get rid of it, you've got to get rid of the extra pounds, which is as simple (and difficult!) as calories-in-calories-out. To get started, use this site to calculate your daily calorie limit for the number of pounds you want to lose each week, remembering to set it pretty low if you're not currently significantly overweight. Be patient, log your food every day, and you'll see the pounds come off. Eating healthy is great, but there's no substitute for eating the right quantity. It's all about portion control.
