A piece of cheesecake can be like 600 cals0

Eat pizza, ice cream, popcorn, peanut butter. Anything high calorie0

Oats, banana, peanut butter, whole milk...etc. you can easily make a 1200+ calorie shake from that0

Hi! I suffered from Severe Anorexia and was 5 foot 8 and weight only 95 pounds at one point, but now on here to lose the weight as once you hit really harmful low weight levels you also need to be careful while coming back up. Once you get to your ideal weight don't keep eating like you were and cut down dramatically. But what helped me most in gaining my wait from skeleton like body was pasta, beautiful alfredo and cheesy pasta with lots of extra grated cheese on top. For someone who didn't think about how I would level out again, weight loss and weight gain are really easy to switch from if your not careful.
Eat tons of pasta!!! The best thing about pasta is that you can have it in so many different ways, pesto mixed with melted butter for a nice sauce for some penne, alfredo, etc. But don't go to macdonalds or anything. Junk food does NOT equal healthy weight gain. It good even encourage more weight loss because your body not being used to processing it and working extra hard to burn it.
Carbs are now your BEST FRIEND. Without carbs I would have never gotten back to healthy weight. Also eat late at night before you go to bed. Your metabolism slows down at night making it take longer to digest the food and eat when you just wake up next.
Introduce yourself to some healthy sugars!! Smoothies with frozen berries you get from the freezer section mixed with a banana and some REAL plain yogurt, maybe add a few icecubes! You get all the natural sugars while also giving your body the vitamins its sorely lacking. But be careful with taking more vitamins than you need. If you have a couple smoothies a day you don't need to be taking an extreme daily vitamin or go crazy with the Vitamin C or anything (which people tend to do for some strange reason.)
Watch your sodium intake as too much sodium will not benefit you and will instead become an enemy. Being underweight means your body isn't getting enough of anything. Sodium is fine but when your body is in the gutter its always better to stay away from the salt. Simply because when you are that small and likely prone to infection after just having a baby, too much sodium can cause crystallization in the ureters, the little tube that attaches each of your kidneys to your bladder. If you are unfortunate enough to have had a Urinary Tract Infection before just wait till you feel that crystallization! Its like having the urge so bad it hurts but without the actual burning and it doesn't go away with antibiotics, it only goes away with less sodium and more citrus. Since the acidic properties helps it. If you have a healthy amount of sodium in your diet choose sea-salt.
Lastly, your biggest concern at that weight after pregnancy is getting nutrients back. Breast feeding is no joke, its like having a little vampire. Specifically for after breastfeeding you need LOTS of iron in your diet. You lose tons of iron while you breastfeed and Red meat and Beans are for you. Have someone treat you to a nice steak, pork is okay to but everyone wants steak. Beans also are high and protein and easier to digest and you can eat more of them. I recommend beans over the red meat but a lot of them! Its harder to digest red meat over beans, hence your metabolism works more to break it down which you don't want. So bushes baked beans here you go!
Even though you weren't in the very bad condition I was that took a while to even get on an okay weight gain plan these tips and tricks supported me through thin and well thin. Just make sure when you do hit that healthy weight you change your diet to maintain real fast rather than weight gain. I went from 95 to an fluctuating healthy 135 and because I didn't really look over my next step for maintain and not gaining anymore I hit a stressful period in my like and went from 135 to 199. Trust me, weight gain is easy compared to the weight loss. I'd gain it all again just to not have to watch my boss eat a breakfast burrito right in front of me while I poke my egg white spinach THING that belongs to a vegetarian..... not me.
P.S Calories are fine and all and they are important to have over whatever is designated for you, but Carbs and Iron should be your main go to. And just do yourself a favor and watch that sodium. Because your kidneys never like any weight gain programs. They take a double blasting from the breastfeeding as well. Trouble is, where you find Iron you can also find a lot of sodium. Once you start gaining weight without that sodium influx it just feels nicer too and its kinder on the body. And don't let soda draw you in. High fructose corn syrup sure helps you gain weight but when you are at the weight you want it will be far harder to put the soda down. Sadly nobody tells you diet coke is addictive until you look it up.0 -
There is no need to go wild and hit 3000 calories per day. Gaining or lossing too quickly is hard on the body so it's best to find your maintenance level and then go 500 to 1000 calories above it. For someone of your weight that should probably start around 2000 calories per day or so depending on your activity level.0

Healthy fats! That' where it's at!!!

Step 1: Calculate your TDEE - how many calories you ACTUALLY need in a day.
Step 2: Each over that to gain weight. +500 calories a day = 1 lb per week, though that may be asking for too much in someone as small as you.
Find high caloric foods that are easy to consume - whole milk, nuts, peanut/almond butter, olive oil, etc. I used to take shots of olive oil when I needed extra calories before bed (120 calories per TBSP or something crazy like that!).
PS going crazy and eating 3000 calories is neither sustainable nor is it healthy. If we are talking about permanent, long term change, do something realistic that you can see yourself doing for a long, long time (it's why fad diets don't work... you just give up after a week or 2).0 -
I would honestly return the mass gainer. I was skinny my whole life. I see skinny people at the gym eating mass gainer s and seeing no results. My body is like a furnace, if I drink a powder protein shake than I'm pooping it out in a few hours, and I'm guessing your body is similar, and that's why your body weight is so low. Eat more real food! Make your own REAL FOOD shakes with peanut butter, oats, raw egg, bananas, yogurt, milk. You can easily make your own mass gainer. Mass gainer is just a lazzy way to take fake calories. Eat 6 meals a day or more if your body needs it. Do not Lett your body become hungry. Workout hard and eat hard and you will gain. Simple as that. Eat food! For the first 2 weeks of eating so much, you may lose weight, which is normal. Keep eating. Hope you see results soon. And again, get your money back from that mass gainer and go to Costco to buy real food0

jayswifey92, a few years ago my wife had lost so much weight that one of her doctors recommended that we see a dietitian to learn how to feed her back up to a healthy weight. The dietitian recommended the typical plate distribution of 1/4 starch, 1/2 vegetables, 1/4 meat, and then added butter to the starch and vegetables, added a dinner roll, added butter to the dinner roll, and added a sweet dessert to follow dinner.0
