So at my workplace ( a large healthcare system in North Carolina), if you have certain diseases or health conditions (like high blood pressure or diabetes) you are required to participate in a wellness program or be penalized with a hefty 'surcharge' on your health insurance premium (you pay more!). You must check-in with your nurse every 90 days and set health and fitness goals. When you meet your goals, you earn incentives - in my case, money added to my health savings account. Although obesity is NOT one of the health conditions that requires enrollment, MFP was recommended to a few of my friends at work by their wellness nurse, because they are 'obese' in addition to having high blood pressure, etc... Anyone else? I love MFP and tell everyone I know about it, by the way.
