so I haven't worked out since I hurt my back. My right lat muscle spasmed and dr put me on inflammatories and muscle relaxers. I miss the gym but honestly I am nervous I'm going to hurt myself. Dr said this was just a weird muscle reaction to probably moving the wrong way and not from the gym as I had no pain 2 days earlier after the gym. I had been using the weight machines for a week at low weights before this. I know i am using muscles i don't normally use. I feel like this is starting all over again as my body has been sedentary.

yeah, returning and rehab after an injury is like starting all over again. take it slow and easy.

Is there a question here. OP? LOL

All I can say is if it hurts don't do it! Rehab the injury as the doctor prescribed as that is all a person can do otherwise no "exercisey" for a long time!

well it isn't spasming anymore and I'm almost done the inflammatories. Just wondered if anyone else had muscle spasming and how they got back into working out again.

yes i have had spasms when i haven't warmed up properly and it can take weeks to get back into the groove, depending on the severity of it. listen to your body, and work on learning more about what you did to cause it and what you can do to prevent it from happening again.

I was told u shouldn't stretch before working out cuz your muscles are cold. I was told to warm up by doing 10min of cardio then do the weight machines then i could stretch or do more cardio then stretch. is that wrong? thanks
