Skinny fat girls..

Hi all,
I've always been skinny fat and unhappy with how I look. I'd like to shed about 5kg just to lose the soft arms and belly. But struggling to find motivation, and even questioning if i'm doing something wrong..
My sister who was larger than me lost 5kg within 2 weeks, the weight just fell off her!!! It was really impressive - but I haven't had rapid results like that which is a bit discouraging. Especially since I'm doing more exercise than her.
Any advice for shedding extra weight? How long did it take you to lose around 5kg? Any tips or motivation?

Heavier people always tend to lose weight faster in the beginning
All I can say is keep at a defecit and do something like take pictures of yourself to help with motivation0 -
Are you lifting weights? I used to be totally focused on dropping pounds and wound up a super skinny fat 95lbs. Once I discovered lifting weights I gained 15 lbs but looked soooo much better because I put on muscle while leaning out.0

No I haven't done strength training yet - but I've been looking into a membership at the gym to start basic strength training0 -

This is a good idea. I don't know your height or current weight so not sure if losing more would be of benefit, but chances are, you'll just be a smaller version of yourself after losing another 5kg, and still not be happy (still skinny fat). Strength training will help with this.0 -

For sure! For me it's just excess fat that's hanging around and general slimming - as opposed to wanting to lose significant amount weight.
I mostly want to do strength training to look more lean/toned, and to contribute to my running performance0 -
I wish you every bit of success with this! The results are worth it. I've really been impressed/inspired by some of the threads in the Success Stories section of this forum, they really give you hope and that most things you thought impossible, actually achievable.0
