Women. 33. 220lbs.
Aiming for 1200calories per day. My question is - I usually do 500-600 calories in the gym, 4 times a week. So should I be eating 1700calories for it to net out to 1200 OR eat 1200, work off 500 and for it to be net of 700?
Wanting, ideally, to lose 2lb a week

Your net should not be less than 1200. Even that seems very low for your size. Your body needs nutrients to survive and function - 700 a day isn't enough to provide it with the minimum needs.

    1200 + (50-75%) of 500-600.

Ideally you would eat back 100% of your exercise calories. But these numbers are hard to pin down. MFP gave you a deficit with zero exercise calories built in. So start with 50% and eat more if weight loss is faster than expected (or your feel run down) or less if weight loss is slower than expected.

1200 is already as low as MFP will go, so definitely eat more. 2 pounds a week is only "ideal" when you have more than 75 pounds to lose. After awhile weight loss will slow down.

    Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range
