Advice on dieting and working out

I currently weigh 160 but my goal is about 125. I'm on a 1200 calorie diet and about 45 minutes of working out a day. Does anyone have any suggestions of low calorie meals or workouts? Eating clean can sometimes be hard for the simple fact I don't have enough time to cook every day.

Eat what you used to eat just less of it. Make sure you are eating back half of your exercise calories as 1200 is tough.

I prefer to work out TDEE and eat 500 less than it.

  • It takes less time to chop a lettuce, tomato and cucumber than it does for the microwave to beep.

    • tinned tomatoes can be heated with a little salt as soup.
    • Try to cook things like boiled eggs in advance, then have them sat in the fridge for grabbing!
    • I always have cold chicken in the fridge - a tsp fromage frais (about 50kcal/100g) and a drizzle of chili sauce (27kcal/10g serving of the one I use) with some chopped raw veg like celery, beetroot, carrots. It takes a minute and can be prepared in a bento for the fridge at work.

Exercise is going to have to be at your will. Personally I have run laps of park stairs when the gym was closed just to get my exercise in.

    • Don't underestimate the power of heavy lifting. Weight lifting can raise your calorie expenditure for up to 39 hours due to muscles repairing and other factors. If you're short of time I'd really suggest this.
