Aching Calf muscles

Looking for some advice! I ran a lot last year but due to personal circumstances and other things I had to stop, I started again in January and have been taking it easy, running 1-2 miles every other day, trying to build up my fitness again, I have had my gait analysed and purchased the correct shoes, so can't blame that but past few runs my lower calf muscles have been aching and very quickly into my run, also I've had real bad pins and needles in my feet as well, this is becoming very problematic as I am unable to push myself......
I have had a sharp pain going from the top of my right hip down my glute and top of my leg, think it might be a sciatic pain, but it's not there all the time and doesn't bother me when I am running, but I am now wondering if there is a connection because I never had this problem before!

The pins & needles might be from tight laces. Do you have high foot arches?

I have issues with my calves. Most of mine are self inflicted. When I take the time after each run and stretch, my calves are fine. But when I get lazy and skip or rush my stretches I have issues.

Stretch each calf for at least 30 seconds after you run (better to do each calf twice for 30). Do this as part of a complete stretching program after each run. I spend 15 minutes stretching.

Also do some cross training to strengthen the calf muscles.

Lastly, try not to push too hard. Nice easy paced runs are best.

    Good luck.
