Why am I not losing weight?

I am not sure I understand how MFP works, can anyone clarify for me? Based on my weight loss goal my daily calorie allotment is 1600. I exercise (strength and cardio) 7 days a week so depending on the exercise MFP gives me more calories say up to 1800 or 2000. Is that the amount of calories I can eat that day? I not losing tho I generally stay within the calorie limit (I think). Any thoughts? Thanks so much.

Here's my word of advice....keep what you're doing. You seem to be at an ok calorie goal. I'd say it might be a bit high. It's related to how many pounds you'd like to lose and I'd say you set yours at a slow pace. If you'd like to lose more or begin losing, in your case, you might change your weight loss goal. Also, (no insult intended because I am in the same group), unless you're very young it might take some time to lose weight. Our metabolisms change as we age. You might look at your macros. I know that I cannot lose weight unless I change the carb intake in my nutritional goals. I just can't handle the typical number of carbs they suggest per day. Just do some experimenting and see how it goes. Also, an other thing that people suggest is to weight everything and log everything. You might not think you're over calories but after you log, you realize that you're eating more than you think (sorry if you're already doing this, your diary is private so I didn't know).

I hope you continue on your journey to get healthy...it can be a slow process sometimes! Good luck.

Thanks! I have a bad feeling I am not recording accurately and that the calories from exercise may be too high... Appreciate your thoughts!! quote="lemonlionheart;35574607"][img]https://us.v-cdn.net/5021879/uploads/editor/po/3jn47c1cpfoz.jpg[/i
[/img]
