Not Seeing results

I have been working out and eating healthy and I'm just not seeing the results. When I started my food program I lost about 4kg over 4 months but now that I have gotten more serious on the workouts. I'm seeing no results I have stayed the same weight for the last 4 weeks, despite working out 5-6 days a week and eating right. I admit that I have on 3 occasions been naughty and eaten bad. But I would have thought I would have lost something by now.

Any suggestions on where I am going wrong?

Did you take your measurements? Since the change is subtle and you see yourself everyday, you might not notice the changes. I didn't lose weight until about a month of workouts, but I lost inches. That's the best way to find out if you're making progress in my book.

Hard to say without seeing your food diary. What is your height and current weight, and how many calories are you eating?

My weight has not shifted for 4 weeks now but my body shape is getting better . . . Used to avoid the mirror now I'm always taking time to glance into it. Lol.
As alot of MFP veterans say, take pics & measure inches, you might not have noticed the change but I'm sure it is there.
 Don't stress, you'll get there. Keep smiling & keep up the good works.

Aquarabbit - No I didn't take any measurements I know I probably should have at the beginning it was just one of those things I never got too. I hope that is the case.

Bajoyba - Basically I eat a similar things most days breakfast is oats, lunch is either a salad or cruskits with ham or egg and cheese or sushi. Dinner is a recipe from a site I use everything is under 300 calories for dinner normally chicken or fish or pork sometimes steak. Normal day is 1200 calories give or take 100 calories.

My height is 163cm and i weigh 92.7Kg.

"eating healthy" doesn't mean the same thing as staying within your calorie goals. most weight loss comes from food choices and portion contro. Working out helps and is very healthy of course, but is not the main component. open your diary and people will be able to help you. If you haven't been logging consistently, start there.

Thanks R55T I might go back and take a look at the photo that started it all and see if I can see a difference.

Elyelyse - I've only recently started using the MFP app after a friend saw me jotting my food in a diary. SO much easier so I only have a few days on here at the moment.

I'm just a little bit shorter than you and weigh just a little less, and I am older than you... and I eat more than that. You don't need to go to those extremes. Your weight loss *could* be slowing because you are eating so little... or you could be under-estimating the number of calories you are eating/over-estimating calorie burns. do you weight and measure everything you eat? how do you log your exercise?

Elyelyse - I do also eat snacks sorry I forgot to add those I have a piece of fruit and a slim secrets bar or something from that range. I don't religiously weigh my food I do on occasions but most of the time i work off the packaged weights. My exercise I log now on MFP but previously I just used a tick sheet at the gym with the program the trainer made up fro me.

Do you eat back your exercise calories? Sometimes weight loss stalls if you consume too few calories. If you only eat 1200 a day and nothing more, you could be netting well under 1000 calories after exercise, which is not very much fuel for your body.

Sometimes I will eat something extra after a workout but its normally under the 200 calories.

i often go off the packages too, and that has worked so far (though some people say those are only estimates, and its best to weigh EVERYTHING) Just make sure you are logging it all. for exercise, MFP is notorious for overestimating calorie burns, so if you are eating back exercise calories, i'd say only eat back half to two thirds of what MFP says. Having said that, I still say 1200 could be too low, unless you are definitely eating back some of those exercise calories. Yes, eating fewer calories than you need is the key to weight loss, but f you go too low, the loss can slow down considerably.

Thanks Elyelyse I will try to eat something extra each day and see if that makes a difference. Fingers crossed. :)

It sounds like you were doing well until you intensified your workouts. If that's the case do try eating back some or all of your exercise calories.

girl, you gotta eat more! trust me, raise your calories to 1400 on days you don't work out and around 1600 on days you do. It will make a huuuuuge diff. since your body is just clinging on to the fat.

Yes I am now going to eat more I don't know If i'll go as high as 1600 calories a day as I have an office job so I'm on my *kitten* a fair bit. But I will def add something extra maybe in the car on my way to dance classes or after the gym .
