Why have I started gaining weight?

Hey guys! So recently I upped my exercising from 10000 steps to 15000, and in the process, I've gained four pounds which I can't seem to take off again. Overall, I burn 7-800 cal every day that I exercise (three to four times a week) and I'm eating an average of 12-1500 cal every day. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it?

I record my food on myfitnesspal, but it's mostly an estimation. And I increased near the end of January because my frequency of exercising decreased when I was studying for exams (as a result of which I gained two pounds) so now I'm actually six pounds heavier than I was in December.

Thanks so much for this insight! I will try and just keep the exercise regime up for a couple more weeks and see where that gets me.
