Advice or tips?

Hi! Im looking for tips and advice. I started working out and trying to eat better on 2/19 so a week tomorrow!
I'm 23, 5'2 and started at my highest weight ever...230lb. I have lost 5lbs so far. Trying to lose 100lb. I try to walk either outside or on the treadmill at least a mile everyday and also do exercise ball workouts. I'm trying to start out slow, as I was pretty much inactive before. I don't have a scale to weigh food but log everything I eat the best I can. Just wondering what I need to do to keep making progress.

Well, what you're doing now has lead to 5 lbs lost. Why are you worried about doing it differently?0

Great job! Don't expect to continue to see 5lb/wk losses. You'll lose at a higher rate at first, and then it will taper off to maybe 1-2lb a week -- don't (!!!) be discouraged by that.0

Well because I realize 5lbs in a week won't continue to happen. I'm not worried about doing it differently just looking for tips to continue.0 -

Thank you! I know, that's what I'm concerned about, as I get use to the workouts the progress may taper off.0 -
You are doing amazing so far! I would suggest just keeping up what you are doing so far for another week or so to get into the habit of logging and moving your body. Then you can start to make even more changes slowly-add some distance to your walk or another set of exercises to your workout. Commit to drinking more water. Start decreasing your portion sizes. Then, maybe consider getting a food scale. Gradual but consistent changes will ensure you don't burn out or get overwhelmed!0

You've lost weight by eating fewer calories than you've burned. Keep doing that and you'll continue losing weight.0

Thank you! I have been drinking only water and cutting down on portions. Yesterday I had spaghetti but half of what I usually eat...and felt so guilty about it!0
