Busy Mom-Compulsive Overeating

Recently I did a 21 day challenge to help jump start my new "healthy lifestyle". The point of the challenge is to teach you healthy lifestyle changes and to help you learn to stick with them. I thought I did pretty well with the challenge but I did not lose any weight and I swear that my stomach area has gotten bigger!!! I have a 14 month old that I am trying to get healthy for. I know that I don't always push myself and a lot of times I find excuses to not do things I know I should. I am wondering lately if I may have a real problem such as compulsive overeating...or if I am just trying to make excuses to get myself off the hook for not doing what I know I should do. I bought some of the easter peeps shaped like bunnies the other day for me and my daughter....I ate half the pack in one sitting!!! This is ridiculous. My daughter is my reason for getting healthy. It's not just that I want to be skinny and all, it's that I truly want to be a good role model for my child and be able to teach her to take care of her body and to be confident. I can't do those things if I can't do myself. I keep telling myself that she is my motivation yet, here I am...not making any progress....I have a fitbit Charge HR and MFP so that I can make the right choices...yet here I am....

Recently I have been looking at my fear of NOT overeating. When I thought about not overeating, I felt sad. When I am overly busy, I feel uncared for and empty. I want something that is easy and sweet to make me feel loved. It's very difficult but please try to find some me time in your busy week. The latest Weight Watchers magazines are really focused on this. Even more important, really treasure the love you are already getting whether it's a friendly smile from a shopkeeper or a hug from your baby or whatever. Let that love sweeten your life so you don't need candy to do that job for you. Also I really recommend short meditations to soothe and strengthen you. They help so much. Your baby is so lucky to have a loving Mum like you so please be kind to yourself so your emotional needs are more met and you don't need food to do that for you. Also I believe it is vital to eat enough calories for your very busy day. Include a wide variety of vegetables because I saw a program that said that fibre feeds the microbes in your gut and then they send a message up to your brain to say there is no need for more food. And please don't do low carb. Carbs help you cope emotionally, I believe. And I also try to remember that healthy food like a bowl of oatmeal can be a way of giving love to myself.0
