2 days ago our little family went to a local trampoline place, and we/I jumped for 1hr 30min, I really moved it and jumped the entire time with only breaks to catch my breath and get some water.. Of course it's much more than I normally do, mainly because I've been mad that the scale isn't nice to me the past few weeks.. I want to work out again tomorrow, just 30min of some power walking, but I don't want to hurt my muscles again as I'm not 100%, or make them sore to retain water before I weigh myself on Monday! I don't want to push too hard, but I need that scale to move this week!

When you use a muscle beyond the manner in which it had grown accustomed, and it seems you did, you can expect the muscle to develop micro-tears, which are painful. The muscle needs protein to heal itself and it heals itself stronger than it had been before, the better to face the new work you introduced to it. Don't push too hard. Get some protein, but not too much, soon after a strength training session, and your mega-trampoline session counts as a serious leg day. It takes about 48 hours for the muscle to heal. I do sympathize with your desire to work off the flab, but on the day after a leg day, do chest and arms. Let the legs rest. And go light on the sodium over the weekend.0

Yes. To be honest, 30 minutes of power walking isn't even close to pushing too hard. Besides working out will probably even relieve some of that muscle soreness.0

That would be fine. Just remember to keep it light to allow those muscles to heal. If it hurts or feels wrong. Try again the next day. I believe 24 hrs is the least amount of time your body needs to recover and repair. The soreness could be from lactic acid, which needs to be worked out of the muscles via massage or light workout. Good luck and don't over do it!!0

Okay, I understand, I have in my head that the harder you push the better the results, so I think I'll wait until I'm all better... I know my legs hurt but literally my entire body hurts, I really pushed it, and I'm 230 pounds so it was tough on my body0

Sorry, I hope my comment didn't come off as rude. If you really feel as if you're too sore to workout out, then don't. But I do think walking around a bit might help alleviate the soreness. But again listen to your body and good luck.0

I agree with this. Every person's body is different, but it's highly recommended to take a walk/do light cardio when your muscles are sore. It keeps them warm and will alleviate some of the pain. Foam rolling and/or stretching can also help with this immensely.0 -
For me it just depends on how sore I am. I was very sore a couple days ago and tried to get on my bike but couldn't even go at 12mph because of the soreness... so I just called it a day. Then I had a great workout the next day.0

I find that if my muscles are sore from working out, it actually makes them feel better to work out again. I did a pretty intense kettle bell leg workout the other day and was sore the following afternoon. I did some walking/jogging on the treadmill and it helped to loosen up the muscles and my legs felt better.0

I'm another that likes to workout if I'm sore, it warms things up and loosens the muscles off again for a while. My abs are pretty sore today but went ahead and did my usual scheduled workout today (upper strength focus with some cardio).
Muscle soreness from exercise isn't the same as injury and therefore, for the most part, is safe to work through.0 -
Thanks everyone, I just did some power walking, glad I did something today!0
