Exercise question on vacation?

I am going on vacation, three days. I will be drinking alcohol. I work out non stop. I burn about 600 to 700 calories a day working out and lifting weights. Would it be a good idea to keep to ultra lights? The healthiest beer I would asume. Also, proportion small size my meals. I usually do not eat as much either. My family and I are usually in bed by 11 o'clock any ways. Is kayaking a good way to exercise. I have nothing else. I would think to do that for about an hour or two around the lake every morning. it is going to be hot too.

I recently got back from a vacation as well. Yes, try to limit your portions and try to drink a lighter beer if you must indulge in beer during your vacation. Kayaking is a wonderful upper body workout. On my recent vacation camping, kayaking was how I worked out. I also did a couple light walks in the evening (when it cooled down). How about swimming? Is there a pool where you're staying? Enjoy your vacation and don't stress too much about everything0 -
I just got back from a weekend camping trip I enjoy taking nice runs while camping very refreshing and nice an quit.0

Seriously... you'll be on vacation. Enjoy some quality beers (Craft beers!!) and enjoy your exercise times. Nothing will sap the fun out of vacation for everyone around you if you are lamenting about the calorie content of the beer in your hand! Sounds like you will be plenty active. Just enjoy and try not to over do it with your overall eating/calorie consumption, but don't freak out if you do have a "big" day or two. Enjoy vacation. You'll be back to the routine in the bink of an eye!!0

If you really want to workout, nerdfitness.com has a good body weight circuit designed for a hotel room that you can do with relative ease. Otherwise, don't sweat it too much. As long as you keep your meal portions reasonable, your exercise on vacation (swimming, walking, kayaking) will help balance you out. I usually maintain my weight while on vacation by just eating the right amount of food. I still drink all kinds of beer (not a fan of ultra lights, personally) and eat all kinds of food, just in moderation. Enjoy the vacation.0

It's your vacation; eat moderately and don't exhaust yourself every second of the day. It's only three days. Enjoy a good beer if you want one. You don't have to work out nonstop unless it brings you happiness. But it sounds like you want to work out rather than kayak for enjoyment. Don't be quite so obsessive.0

It's good to take time off from working out. My last vacation I decided to take a break from working out and I let myself eat whatever I wanted. (Including 4 donuts in 1 day!) When I got back to town, I got right back into my routine. Guess what? I didn't gain a single pound. (I also didn't weigh myself the day I got back... just got on the scale on my regular day.)
Don't worry about it! Relax and have some fun!0 -
Everyone covered it so I'll just say cheers! :drinker:0
