I love fitness. Fitness whole pizza in my mouth

How do you get over your food cravings? Do you give yourself a cheat day once a week or once a month?

I fit my cravings into my allotment by eating light for other meals or doing an extra workout. Every once in a while life happens and I splurge. I log it and move on.

Eat the food you crave within the confines of your calorie and macronutritional goals.

Yeah I make it fit. And if old habits creep in and it doesn't fit I try to mitigate the damage by making better choices for the rest of the week. If it't the end of the week I just start again tomorrow (I take a weekly average view of my calorie intake).

Have a cheat *meal* every now and then, not a cheat "day," where every meal is way over. Of course you should have a cheat every now and then, to keep yourself sane. If you know you want to have a bunch of pizza and some cocktails at night, just make sure you eat less during the day, and maybe a little less the next day, too, to make up for going over that night.

Really, keeping track of weekly calorie deficit is better for that reason, but it's easier to do it on a daily basis which is what MFP and most calorie trackers are based on.

Can't say I had any cravings that I couldn't follow through on. Just eat with in your calories.

But that might be a different case if I was a tiny female eating 1200 calories.

For me the lowest I ever ate was 1500, at the moment I am eating 2000+, all the room in the world for a bit of pizza etc

There's a tab under nutrition with your weekly average and calories. Easy peasy.

I usually have one cheat day a week, even before using mfp. Now with mfp, I look at my macros for the week on mfp and see how much I can eat or what I eat.

I give myself a meal with unlimited calories every once and awhile. I have a bigger deficit a couple days before that glorious meal to have a little wiggle room. I log everything from the heavenly meal so I know where I am for the week and if it still goes over my calories I don't let it annoy me.

THANK YOU! I never saw that little arrow on the mobile app. That saves me a lot of averaging! Lol ... I should have known that was there somewhere!

I fit them in my calories. Trying to go around them just makes me eat more eventually... as I eat other stuff then eventually always end up eating what I wanted in the first place anyway... Plus honestly if I eat what I'm craving, I'm more satisfied and will eat less overall. So I basically plan my meals according to my cravings...

Often I look for a healthier recipe (but still close enough, none of that banana ice cream BS). Or I go buy a small serving somewhere. Or I save calories to have more of it fit. Sometimes I have to wait a couple weeks until I'm less hungry and can spare more calories (if I crave something sweet), but typically it just means having a couple lower calorie meals to make things fit.

Mostly though I keep the high calorie dishes for lunch. It's always my bigger meal, and this way I'm often too full for a big dinner anyway, so it pretty much always works out. Saving calories for dinner NEVER works for me... I'm a 'eat 3/4 of my calories by 2pm' kind of person. If you're not very hungry during the day though you can have a small breakfast and lunch and save calories for a bigger dinner.

And I look at my weekly average, if I'm a bit over one day, I'm usually a bit under another day, so it averages out.
  • I have small amounts that fit into my calorie allowance.

But the title of this thread :D

TBH, I exercise so I can eat more. As for cravings, I rarely crave something specific but when I do, it's usually takeout pizza. I compromise by making it at home instead.

I eat foods I love. I make some compromises with lower calorie foods. I watch my macros so I can hit them and use discretionary calories for treats. I bake macro friendly cookies/sweets.

If I feel like eating pizza I eat pizza. Last night I had lasagna and cheesecake. I don't have strong cravings because I eat all of the things I like. Luckily I happen to like a pretty wide range of things and that included lots of "healthier" choices.

Since I am very physically active ,my calorie goals is pretty easy to stick to. And I don't get too upset if I go over it a little, or occasionally a lot. If I can't do this every day for the rest of my life I can't do this. If I decide to never eat pizza and bread and chocolate cake and all of the yummy calorie dense foods I love I will (and have) fail in the first week.

Learning how to eat food you like in such a way as to continue to be healthy and lose and eventually maintain a healthy weight is the whole point.

    yeah, the title

    fitting treats - #workhardplayhard.

Mix in the lower calorie choices with the decadent treats and try to achieve balance.

Try to focus on good food, not just eating stuff because it's a whole pie. Does it have all the flavors you want? Does it leave you to your desired level of fullness, or so stuffed you can't even move freely or go about the rest of your day? I find that considering these criteria increases the number of times I say "no, thank you"

I can't have a cheat meal or day, its the wrong mind set for me. I have a party I eat light before hand, exersice that day and log what I eat. Even if I go over for the day. I use that amount of calories as a goal amount to go under for the rest of the week. Today i went over350 calories so I will work to shave at least 50 calories a day.
