What is the best way to recover after a binge?

There's nothing to 'recover' from. You haven't suffered a life changing incident.

Carry on as normal, and take it on the chin that you have consumed too many calories.

When I have the binge bloat I wear a chunky sweater and get on with my day. I try to have a good workout and use the fuel I have and if I have time, I might step in the sauna which temporarily helps with the water weight and feels nice. I also drink a lot of water/tea.

Thank you! Those are good tips, especially the sweater one :) It'll definitely help me feel less self conscious about my puffy belly :/

I'm currently gaining weight as I'm trying to gain muscle, but there's a certain amount of fat that goes with it. If I have a really high calorie day or I'm bloating on TOP of what I've already gained...it can be hard. I have a few outfits for reserve on those days. They are still stylish but I'm not gonna rock a mini skirt and a crop top when I feel like that lol.
  • haha, I totally get it! Most of my clothes are from when I was 118-125 pounds, and now I'm 155. Gosh, low thyroid sucksssss. I just went out and bought new clothes, but I'm really struggling to lose the weight

Are you struggling because you're bingeing often?
  • No, my thyroid levels are three times too low at the moment :/ so it's basically impossible for me to lose weight. I was sooo happy with my body before I got sick, and now that I'm 40 pounds heavier and not able to get any of it off, I'm really unhappy about it

I'm sorry. I don't know too much about thyroid levels and weight loss. I have seen some posters with similar problems who struggle, but are still able to lose. Do a search for some of the threads. It might make you feel better to see/hear from others who are in the same boat and read what they have done.
