Hit a wall early?

So I've been eating very clean and tracking, weighing all my food and exercising every day for about 45 minutes. I was losing weight pretty steady the last 2-3 weeks but today and yesterday I have been up 2 pounds. What am I doing wrong? I also feel extremely swollen so I know that may be a part of it. Any thoughts?

What are you doing wrong? Not having patience and lack of understanding that weightloss is not linear.

As you lose weight, you will have some days when your weight increases over a previous day. It doesn't mean you have done anything wrong. It means you're biological, not a machine.

Weight loss is not linear. Early on, you typically have some large losses due to water weight that can make the first week or two show consistent downward scale weights, but that doesn't last forever, and over time there will be days and even weeks where you see no loss or actually a gain register on the scale. Water and food waste fluctuations can be as much as several pounds, which is more than anyone but the very largest people can lose in fat in a week, so there will be times even when you are doing everything right that the scale still goes up. If you are truly eating at a deficit, this does not represent fat gain. Just that your actual body weighs more because it has more fluid/food/waste in it at that moment, for whatever reason.

If you are female, you're likely to notice this happens at certain stages of your cycle. It's fluid, not fat.

    are you a female?

to me it sounds like typical hormonal water weight and time of the month scenerio.

Yes I'm a female so it very well could be hormonal! I've been drinking a lot of water but slacked off a bit the last few days so I'll have to watch that! Thanks guys it's just hard not to get frustrated! I suffer from infertility and put on a lot of the weight I lost from fertility medications and just want it to go away. Unfortunately it takes time and I just need to be more patient. :)

Weight loss is not linear, as others have posted. Look at all my "gains" in the past four weeks. They're from high sodium days, ovulation and, most recently, a new strength training program.
