Hey everyone! My name is Mitchelle. I'm 40 years old and am at a point where I've actually gained weight for the first time in life and really wanting to get it off. My husband is a disabled Iraq vet. I'm his caregiver, a Starbucks Barista from 4:30 am to 9 am, plus I homeschool my 10 year old daughter. So yeah, I have a difficult time trying to find the energy and time for me, quite honestly. My husband is very supportive but he works 10 hour days and by the time he gets home I'm wiped out so that makes us doing things together a little difficult. I'm at 212 lbs and would love to get back down to 170 - 175. I'm just under 5" 10 and am not interested in being overly skinny. But I do have young children I'd like to be able to keep up with and be an example for my daughter who is quickly gaining too.

Hi Mitchelle. I just joined today. I'm Nan and I'm 52. I used to be very fit and very active, and then worked for a terrible boss, hated where I lived, started smoking and drinking too much, became severely depressed, and everything went to hell. I managed to grow by 6 dress sizes. I don't know how much I weigh, I don't own a scale, but I think around 200 pounds. My long-term goal is to return to size 6. People discourage me by saying, "you're not young any more, that size is unreasonable." But, I think it's not unreasonable. For now, I'm going to work for size 12. When I get there, I set another goal. My biggest challenge is making myself get out of bed at 4:15 to exercise.

You're awesome Nan! And we're going to do this together! I can't wait till you hit your goal! Thank you for sharing your story! What a great spirit. Let's both remember, when you embark on this type of journey, others being to count on you. People are always watching and we will be an influence, either way, to someone!

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that others will count on me. I've tried working with buddies before. All of them so far have flaked, so I end up continuing alone. I'm dedicated!
