Suggested Daily Sugar Intake (including recommended AHA's recommended 36g of "added sugar")?

Hey all - new to the discussion boards (somewhat new to the app). I have been told that I need to lower my triglycerides and one thing suggested was to cut out "anything white" - including added sugar.

So, as far as the micronutrient goals in FP, I'm trying to determine what my daily sugar intake goal should be...including naturally occurring sugars found in fruit, dairy, etc.

Haven't been able to find anything online - sourced replies would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A low carb high fat diet will lower triglycerides quite well, low being below 100g, and a ketogenic diet (<50g) having very good results. See Cholesterol Clarity, The Great Cholesterol Con,The Cholesterol Myth and The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living.

I just watched this video of Volek's. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GC1vMBRFiwE

He discusses some of that in the last half of the lecture.

As far as grams of sugar and white stuff for lowering triglycerides? Zero would work best. Less is better, IMO.

There is NO sugar Goal, or requirement. You CAN specify a limit to stay UNDER. Best to keep carbs below 100/grams day. :)
