Hello from Northern Europe!
I'm 21, female and have recently decided to change my lifestyle into a more healthy and active one.
I've never been completely content with my body. As I'm 1,75m tall (5'9'') and my weight is about 66kg (146lbs), I have a BMI of 21-22. This means that I'm definitely not overweight, however I always thought that I could loose just a couple of kilograms to be more content with myself.
I've tried loosing weight before, but mostly just by eating less for a short period of time. The results were never permanent, as I always put weight on again afterwards.
Some time ago I figured that it's not my weight that's bothering me, but rather the way I feel about myself. Now, instead of just loosing some kg, my goal is to get my body into a nicer shape and feel more confident about how I look like. I want to build up some muscles, improve my stamina and loose some fat by doing that.
In order to do so, I changed my diet. I didn't have a very unhealthy diet before, but I wasn't paying attention to what I eat either. Now I'm mainly trying to eat less fat and sugar, to pay more attention to the carbs I consume and to include lots of vegetables in my food. I really love baking, though, so I hope I'll find some ideas how to fit that into my diet.
I also finally became active again by joining group exercises at the local gym. I haven't done any regular sports for a couple of years now, so it feels good to work out at least 2-3 times a week. However, I think I could do a lot more than that, I just haven't found my perfect routine yet. I will only stay here for 2-3 more months, so I didn't see much sense in joining any sports club at this point. It would be nice to find a way to work out at home without any equipment - e.g. by doing pilates, yoga etc - as I'm going to travel a lot in the summer months.
So, long story short:
I'm looking for like-minded people to exchange recipes, workout ideas and motivation with.
