Any breastfeeding moms?

I'm currently breastfeeding my 10 month old. Our goal is 12 months as recommended by the LLLI, CDC, AMA, etc. It's been very difficult for me to lose while breastfeeding and I've recently learned I'm not alone in this. If you're nursing and trying to lose, what has been a challenge? What's helped?

I stopped breastfeeding at the end of Jan. I also had a very hard time losing any of the baby weight. I know some people do Weight Watchers for breast feeders with success.

I'm breastfeeding my 7 month old, a year is also my goal. I too am struggling to lose the weight because I am STARVING all. The. Time. I just bought Herbalife shakes for breakfast and lunch but I also need to eat something with it to keep up my calorie intake. I chose turkey meatballs and zucchini for lunch with my shake and that seems to curb my appetite until dinner. Try a low carb "diet" lots of protein and fat is ok, it's needed to breastfeed anyways. I've lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks but I still have 30 to go  Good luck and keep up the good work of giving your baby the best nutrition possible!

I couldn't lose at all while breastfeeding. Which made me mad because I was told you burn more calories when you're breastfeeding. I finished nursing when my daughter was 12 months old. As soon as I was done breastfeeding I had to go on prednisone...which makes you gain weight like crazy. While I was breastfeeding though I walked 3 miles everyday and didn't lose a pound. I think the pregnancy hormone was still too strong in my system. Your body just wants to hoard all the calories for the baby.

Hi I'm breastfeeding my 10 month old too and have found it hard up until a month ago I have joined slimming world and I have lost 12lbs so far! I also suffer with pcos so I didn't think it would come off so easily. Feel free to add me if you like :) I need some friends going through the same thing.
