I'm always stumpted on what to get at the grocery store! What are things you all put on your grocery list when you're on a diet? I also need easy lunch ideas I can eat at work :)

My shopping list tends to look something like this:

    Greek yogurt
    Coffee
    Coffee creamer
Bread (or sandwich thins or pita bread)
    Lunch meat
    Baby carrots
    String cheese
    Nuts
    Protein bars
    Meat (whatever is on sale)
    Frozen veggies

Lunch is usually a sandwich with an ounce of nuts, string cheese, and baby carrots.

Great ideas!! Is lunch meat alright to eat while on a diet? And what kind? I'm guessing chicken or turkey is probably the healthiest :)

Well, I lost 55 pounds eating lunch meat most days. So I found it fine to eat while losing weight. But you can look into eat and eat what you like.

Turkey and chicken are great. But I also eat roast beef, pastrami, or things like tuna salad or egg salad, or sometimes something like pb&j or hummus and cheese. It all depends on what you like and what fits into your goals best.

I'm not "on a diet"-- I'm eating at a deficit to lose weight and exercising (sorry, had to preface! I'm one of those who doesn't like the word "diet")

I am a vegetarian, but my husband eats meat

    -boneless, skinless chicken breast
    -ground turkey meat
    -tofu
-eggs (i also buy them pre-boiled for convenience)
    -quinoa
    -brown rice
    -whole wheat pasta and sauce
    -canned veggies
-frozen veggies (brussel sprouts, broccoli, carrots)
    -yogurt
    -nuts
    -peanut butter
-string cheese, babybell cheese, laughing cow cheese
    -rice cakes
    -frozen yogurt bars
    -veggie straws
-fresh fruit and veggies (tomato, zucchini, cucumber, oranges, apples, bananas, strawberries)
    -tortillas, bread
    -beans (canned, I rinse them)
-don't forget the seasonings!! garlic, cilantro, lime juice, sea salt, pepper, etc.
    -luna bars-- LOVE
-skinny cow chocolates (I can't control myself, must have my chocolate pre-portioned)

    Hope this helps!

Lots of veggies, fruit, healthy meats, nutrition bars... lunches are typically salads, soups, leftovers... can also get freezer meals (but beware of the sodium)

You can eat any food (as long as you don't have an allergy or other medical reason to restrict it) and still lose weight. It all comes down to being in a calorie deficit. That said, most people find eating a primarily nutrient dense diet comprised of foods that fill them up to be best, along with some treats thrown in for fun and to help keep from losing your mind.

My grocery list varies based on what I'm planning to cook that week but the staples are:
    Bagged Salad
    Fresh Vegetables
Fruit (mostly for my kids, I'm not a big fruit eater)
    Bread
    Deli Meat
    Sliced Cheese
    Hummus
    Pita Chips
    Chicken Breasts
    Salmon
    Pork Tenderloin
    Ground Beef
    Greek Yogurt
    Pasta
    Rice
    Frozen Vegetables
    Cereal
    Granola Bars
    Ice Cream
    Wine
    Diet Coke

Are you "on a diet"? Are you just trying to lose a few pounds quick? Or are you ready to change your life so you will feel better and be able to do more?

If you are on a diet it just doesn't matter because you will likely gain it back. If you are changing the way you eat then some good options are

    Fresh fruit
    Fresh vegetables
    Nuts
    dried fruit (good for iron)
    Whole grain bread
    Whole grain pasta
    Lean meats
Nut butters that don't have a lot of extra stuff added to them (like sugar)
    Yogurt/Greek yogurt
Cereal that has sugar 4th or lower on its list of ingredients
    Milk
    Cheese
    Butter
    Hummus
    Whole grain crackers

A lot of it will depend on what you are making for yourself. Finding good recipes and cooking from scratch is your best bet for good healthy foods

Wow! Your weight loss is amazing. Do you mind me asking what your meals on a day look like? It's been hard for me to even come up with what to eat and stay in my daily intake of 1400 calories. I need ideas

Fruits, veggies, meats and grains....keep it simple. I make as much as I can from scratch...

Now, beyond thatitdepends what you like to cook and eat. This week it was chicken thighs, pork loin rib roast, red quinoa, Asian greens, tofu, lots of fruit....

Add exercise and am down over 30lbs...
