I looked into the study but I don't qualify for it. I am 64 years old, no health problems, and have 100 pounds to lose. I guess I will just have to keep at it the old-fashioned way. Good luck to you guys. It sounds like it would be a great help to lose weight.

I am considering it, but I am very nervous after reading all of the comments on the side effects; sore throat, naseau, cramps, and diarrea. If I decide to participate, I will have the procedure in UC La Jolla, CA. Anyone from here? Also, how is it going for you all? Is it worth it?

    Hi All,
I just received a call saying I qualified. I still need to go in so that the researchers can run their own tests, so when all goes well my procedure will be on Aug 31. Since it is a double blind study and the ratio of people receiving the devise is 2:1, I am hopeful I will get it. To those of you who have already undergone the procedure, are their any telltale signs you have received the devise? Additionally, would you be able to tell me about the other factors of the program, such as working with dietitians?
