I'm looking for people to join in fitness hikes, nature hikes, and biking (mountain bike trails currently but am open to other options) trips in and around Springfield, MO and the greater Ozarks area. So far we have met weekly on Saturday mornings for our excursions and have had groups of 3-18 people attend. It's been great exercise and fun. Looking for new people to join in and help keep each other motivated. Look us up on Facebook too... Fitness and Friends: Hike/Bike with Mike.

Saturday’s Hike with Mike will be a traveling trip. We are headed to Whitaker Point in Arkansas. http://alltrails.com/trail/us/arkansas/hawksbill-crag-trail We will be leaving Springfield at 0630, if you want to carpool let me know. The weather is forecasted as a sunny 67 degrees with nighttime low of 36 so it will be basically perfect. Please wear layered fitness apparel (we may get dirty, gloves are recommended), appropriate athletic hiking footwear, & water supply. Feel your health improving with every movement!
Description: Whitaker Point Trail (Hawksbill Crag) is a 2.7 mile (364’ elevation) out and back trail located near Deer, AR that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and camping and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Directions: South of P South of Ponca, Ark, on hwy 21, go past hwy 43 intersection 1.2 miles, turn west on a gravel road, just before you cross the bridge, the road takes you straight up the mountain side, go about 5.5 miles to country church, proceed another 0.5 miles and you will see the parking on the right side of the road and the trailhead on the left side.

Going on a 2 Part ride at 2 Rivers bike park on 3.16.16. First leg will leave about 2:15pm and the second leg will leave about 3:45pm. Both will be 5-6 mile mountain bike trail rides at one of the most beautiful riding spots in the area!
