Hi all,

So I've been craving flapjacks (these are uk flapjacks, not sure what you call them in the us) for a while but trying to find a low calorie recipe is like looking for a needle in a haystack!

I found a fairly decent recipe and made a few changes!

Here it is for you to try if like me you love a flapjack but don't want all those calories!
It's nut free, butter free, refined sugar free! (But of course feel free to add any of these if you like!)
It is quite a soft flapjack so if you like yours a bit crisper use less milk and bake a little longer! Recipe below.. Happy baking

    Serves 10

    Preheat oven to 160°C

    Ingredients
    150g rolled porridge oats
    25g raisins
25g sultanas (feel free to swaps the fruits for whatever you usually like in your flapjacks)
1 tsp mixed spice or cinnamon
    2tbsp maple syrup
    1tbsp honey
    100ml 1% fat milk
    2 egg yolks

Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl then add in all wet ingredients and mix well until fully combined.
Line a baking tray with grease proof paper then firmly press the mixture into the tray using the back of a spoon. Make sure to fill all the corners!
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30 mins or until golden brown!

I cut into 10 bars and worked the calories out to be 109 per slice using generic ingredients on my fitness pal.

    Enjoy ☺️ x

I don't think you're talking about the same kind of flapjacks.

    Those sound tasty OP!
