I use the TDEE - deficit to calculate my calories therefore don't eat back exercise calories. I was wondering which calculator you guys felt was more accurate. IIFYM (http://www.iifym.com/iifym-calculator/) or Scooby (http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/). Scooby gives me about 300 more calories than IIFYM with exact same data. I'd like to believe Scooby, but I want your guys input!! Thanks.....

At the end of the day they are both just estimates. Scooby's could be dead on or wildly inaccurate. The only way to know is to pick one, log your food accurately and adjust based on your results after 3 or 4 weeks.

The last time we put our numbers in IIFYM it gave craziness. My weight loss calories to eat versus maintenance calories to eat were only 16 apart. 16. We tried his info too and it was also crazy but not as bad. I hoped it was a glitch.

They are estimates so you could try what scooby gives you and then make any needed adjustments after a few weeks if you aren't losing. I also compared mine from scooby to MFPs method and it was close once I add in exercise calories here.

    Either / neither.

They're both mon-personal best guess estimates that pick data from databases based on general population statistics.

Take some time to monitor, track and observe your own data over a sustained period. You'll soon find your own numbers and what to do with them.

Much better than using a generic calculator.

Since the iifym.com site updated last year it has been off IMO. I like Scooby and think it is more accurate, but again these are all just estimates.

I track MFP, Scooby, and IIFYM in a spreadsheet - Scooby is right on. IIFYM is way low.
