Magazines? sorry if dumb question!

On occasion I like to flick through a magazine, eg if travelling or on odd occasion I have half hour free. Problem is I'm not a regular reader so no point in getting a subscription, but most shops often seem to have mens fitness mags and then the typical chick lit or celeb mags aimed at women ( both usually full of cringeable fad diets and crazes). I know there are women's health fitness mags out but station and village shop doesn't stock them, I font want to order if it's only now and again. If I fancy looking at a couple of workouts in a mag would the men's fitness ones be far too guy based, sadly a lot of time they are sealed so can't have flick through. ( I work in engineering so looking at other male based articles isn't an issue, they often get left around anyway).

First, no question is dumb; that's how you learn. No need to apologize for asking them, either!
Personally, I like Shape magazine, SELF magazine, and Fitness magazine. They too sometimes have silly "tips" and repeat the long-debunked myths regarding "detox diets" and what not, but if you skim past that they generally have good workouts in them. I subscribe to all 3 of those regularly.0 -

There are more ads in magazines than articles. I scan through five of them in my dentist's waiting room. I choose the men's fitness mags for the same reason you stated. Those mags are filled with supplement ads with a couple articles on building muscle. Spend your money on dental check-ups/cleanings and flip through all the magazines.

I take what I read in health and fitness magazines with a massive grain of salt...a lot of "workouts" I see in men's magazines are basically *kitten*. Also, I don't really view fitness as "guy based" or "chick based" or whatever...I see it as goal based. Men and women don't really train much differently when the goals are the same. For example, strength training is strength training...it is going to be done using compound movements with low reps at a high % of your max...regardless of whether you're male or female.0

Out of those think the local shop sells Good housekeeping, and Elle. Possibly Family Circle and More.
Thanks for replies, although I read on my phone and kindle I don't like to do excessive screen time, even my doctors tends to do mags like Hello and Chat for the Ladies and then sensible sports mags for the guys. (I usually end up reading the latter if they haven't been swiped).
If im travelling a magazine is my treat for train but station shop is pretty poor in selection too. Will see next time I want to grab one or try a better stocked newsagent. problem is im a now and again mag reader so don't really want to be ordering regular yet.0 -

no, just get on a structured lifting program like strong lifts, all pro beginner, etc....you can google the workouts and find them on line..most of those magazines are peddling a bunch of woo woo about eating six meals a day and magic foods that speed up weight loss....0 -

Wow, so judgmental. Maybe she gets them electronically, I do.
I thought we were her to support each other.
