Looking for more friends not only to keep me going but to also be an encouragement to. This has been like a marathon. I actually lost over 150 pounds (no miracle pills or surgery - just diet and exercise) and I gained back about half of that when life got tough. I'm proud just saying that I recently found my way back and I'm down just over 20 pounds since mid December. Though I'm disappointed in myself for gaining back all that weight, this may sound crazy, but in ways I am thankful because it made me learn some really important lessons. I was less than 10 lbs from what I thought should be my goal weight when it all fell apart. I was killing myself trying to hit that magic number (according to BMI charts) on a crazy restrictive 1200 cal diet with intense workouts for at least two hours a day. All I could see when I looked in the mirror back then was fat - I'm 5'7" and weighed 147 at the time and wore a size 6 - I was by no means fat and actually looking back at all the skinny photos I looked pretty unhealthy. I think the biggest lesson I learned was not to make any changes that I can't live with long-term (like as in the rest of my life). No one should have to give up the foods they love - I am truly a believer in the whole moderation is key mentality. This go around I can see the progress I'm making and love the person I see when I look in the mirror. I have talked with my doctor and made a more reasonable weight goal and will keep it off for good this time.

Sounds like you are on a great path! I lost 50 lbs about 2 years ago. I gained 20 of it back, and now am trying to lose the last 6 to get back to where I was, plush an extra 30 lbs to get to my overall goal! You got this!0
