I need new sneakers but have ultra sensitive feet...

I have the worst feet in the world. I get bleeding craters from flip flops for crying out loud! I once wore terry cloth "flip flop" bedroom slippers up and down the Vegas strip because my feet were covered in bleeding wounds from Nike Squishy Gel flip flops. The backs of my heels and the top of my feet are particularly susceptible. Band Aids do nothing except make it worse.
Does anyone have a particular brand of shoe they like for comfort? I run a little (5k stuff) but mostly just need good gym shoes. We don't have any type of real running store around here to get professionally fit (or to even buy decent shoes) so I'm usually stuck with online ordering without trying them on. UGH!!!!

I recently went with Sauconys, I was a diehard Asics fan and needed the extra cushion. The saucony grid was the first shoe I ever slipped on and went wow, that feels amazing.0

Try Smartwool socks. Stick with me here, I know you are thinking ugh, wool. Background - I live in Florida, it's HOT here, and have skin that reacts violently to wool sweaters. My MIL got me a gorgeous cashmere cardigan and I have to wear it over long sleeved shirts that allow no part of it to touch me. Accidentally bought a sweater with 3% wool and it felt like a thousand needles prickling me. I am no friend to wool, usually.
Smartwool socks are different. I was persuaded to try them, bought one pair, and immediately was converted, do not wear any other socks for running anymore. They are soft, do not itch, and they are not hot, they wick away moisture and keep your feet comfortable. We went to a concert, I was sweating all over but when I took off my shoes and socks, my feet were DRY. The only part of me that was dry. The part that was wearing wool socks. They fit close and provide cushioning. My feet have not had any blisters from running since I started wearing these socks to run.
So, anyway - try better socks. The best tactic I have found is to keep your skin from rubbing on any surface, so socks can work better than shoes.0 -
Maybe try getting fitted at a running store.
Asics fan here...haven't tried Saucony.
FWIW I've found that wearing two pair of socks helps. Not something for everyday...just gives more cushioning for treadmill work and such.
I've got high arches so that might be part of it.0 -
Inov-8 are the only shoes I have ever owned that I don't get blisters. I have 3 pair now, gym, running and mud run shoes. Highly recommend them. I have about 200km on my mud run pair and not a single stitch undone either0
