Why won't it let me comment on friends status

Everytime I want to like a friends status or comment it says error ?

    I get that occasionally as well... And sometimes it won't let me post emojis... Just posts my comment without them

    Are they new friends? I usually have to wait 24 hours after friending someone before I'm able to comment on their stuff
