I hardly ever exercise, so when I tell MFP that I'm Sedentary, does it create a calorie deficit?

Does it create a deficit automatically, or should I still do things like count steps and manually create a deficit by counting how many calories I've burned?

It automatically creates a deficit for you. If you stick to your calorie limit you will lose weight even if you do not exercise.0

Yes. The deficit is based on the pounds per week you want to lose. If you set it to 1 lb/wk, it gives you a 500 calorie per day deficit.0

Yes it does
But appreciate that on MFP the definitions relate to your general activity level not purposeful exercise
You probably are sedentary ...if desk job or couch surfer
But you could be someone who is always on the go, a shopaholic constantly walking the mall, a postman etc and your activity level would be active0
