I buy whatever meat is on sale for the week (chicken, beef, pork, whatever I like). Frozen veggies. Fresh fruit or veggies if they're cheap. Eggs. Greek yogurt in big tubs. Nuts in bulk. Canned beans. Steel cut oats.

Dry beans, lentils, rice, oatmeal, potatoes, eggs, chicken thighs, carrots, celery, spinach, cabbage, sweet potato, apples, popcorn, hummus, bread, peanut butter, cereal, milk, cream of wheat, pasta, yogurt, cheese, nuts, frozen vegetables, frozen fruits, canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna, powdered milk
Buy generic or store brands. Check store ads. Buy fresh fruits and vegetables in season. Buy foods whole and divide, cut, shred, bone or skin them yourself. Check cost per serving- sometimes a larger container is a better deal than individual containers. Drink water instead of buying drinks. Reduce waste. Plan meals and make a grocery list.
