would probably be stronger than mine.
Long story short, I was out of commission for awhile. I used to cycle to work, walk in the forest, anything outside.
After being in the hospital for a spell, I had to go to rehab to get my strength back. I couldn't bend my knees very far or I would fall down.
So, I didn't bike at all last year, and did a minimal of walking. In other words, I went from being fairly active to being a couch potato.
My knees seem to have a delayed response to bending, or stooping. When I fell in the snow about a week ago, it took me 10 minutes to finally be able to get up, and only because I managed to get to a bench and pull myself up.
Do you think getting back to biking and walking will get my poor old knees back? There's no pain, just sometimes they don't want to co-operate.

I don't know exactly what the problem is, but I am sure you can work to improve the situation.

If it took you ten minutes to get up from a fall, and it was not due to pain, I feel it must be related to muscle strength and/or energy levels. Exercise will improve your cardio fitness and strength.

Maybe you are in the next stage of rehab? It can be a long and gradual process to get back where you were.

Go for it. But be patient.

Well, I went for a bike ride. And after some research on-line, it is muscle weakness, because there real isn't any pain. So, patience it is, and keep on keeping on.a

Patience and start slow and build. :) By the time I had my back surgery, I was weak as a baby, have nerve damage down my left side, and practically had to learn to walk all over again. The muscle weakness is kind of terrifying, but yeah, as long you're not having pain, just keep building a little more distance every week and get your strength back. I promise it will happen!

Yes, after 4 1/2 months in hospital, I was the same. Had to learn to walk, climb stairs, even bend without falling over. But, I became a couch potato as a result. But, I'm getting back to it. Thanks for the encouragement.
