I have ground beef in the fridge that I need to use! I know it's not the healthiest for a diet, but are there any "healthy" ground beef recipes out there?

I'd make some patties and throw 'em on the grill...having burgers this evening in fact...I love a good home grilled burger.

Also, there's nothing inherently unhealthy about ground beef...for whatever reason beef gets a bad rap. Do you know what the difference between 93% ground beef and 93% ground turkey is? Basically nothing...

    Why is beef 'unhealthy'?

I have chilli, bolognese and lasagne on a regular basis while losing weight.

    Cabbage casserole!

Brown 1 pound of ground beef, one onion and a little seasoning of your choice ( I use Tony's chachere's) then drain. n a big bowl mix one head of cabbage (chopped), 3/4 cup of brown rice, 2 4oz cans of tomato sauce, 1 10oz can of rotel, and the meat mixture. Pour in a greased 13x9 casserole dish, cover with foil and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 375 degrees. At one hour of cooking, take out and stir and recover. Continue cooking for the remaining 39 minutes.

We are having taco's tonight with lots of salad on them! Lol
I use ground beef a lot. Meatloaf is a good one too. Add in grated vegetables, onions, capsicum, serve with salad! Yum!
Spaghetti and meatballs, etc, it's not that bad really!

Brown beef in a pan with water (you won't burn it and less fat than oil). When meat is browned add can of rinsed garbanzo beans. 2 or 3 handfuls of frozen peas, 2 tsp minced garlic, and black pepper to taste. Once heated through serve over rice.

Worried about the possibly high fat content of the beef? Brown it in a skillet, then drain it in a metal collander. For maximum fat removal, rinse with hot water. Chop an onion and sautee it in the skillet. Pop the beef back into the skillet, then add a can of diced tomatoes, a bag of frozen mixed veggies, a bag of frozen cauliflower. Add some water, depending on how stew-like you want this to be. Add some Mrs. Dash or whatever other seasonings smell good to you today, simmer until the veggies are tender.

Why do you brown the beef in water? Whats the purpose? Just dump the beef into the pan. Cook until browned and remove from the pan, drain the fat then if you so desire. Again please explain the point of beef and water in the same pan?

I don't know the OP intent. But I can tell you if you want beef to be a very fine texture like as in hot dog chili adding water to raw beef will do it. I typically only add water if a want really tiny pieces or a fine texture, otherwise throw it in a pan and cook.

I made ground beef quiche yesterday :) Nom. Maybe not the healthiest recipe in my box, but it's very very satisfying.

Right now I'm obsessed with just cooking up some ground beef in a pan and mixing it with ketchup. Its simple and it tastes like meatloaf. I love it.

Shepherd's pie is a winner in our house. To lower the calories you can reduce the added cheese.

We use ground beef all the time. Chili, lasagna, spaghetti sauce, shepherd's pie, meat pie (tourtière), tacos, burgers...

I used water at first to save money since it is cheaper than oil (being free from the tap). I discovered that the fat would melt and float to the top so I could drain out the fat. Also if the phone rings and I get distracted the meat will not burn in water.
