Feeling Like I'm Not Making Enough Progress

Some days are better than others, but today I'm feeling really negative! I've been lifting weights for over 6 months now, but only counting calories and restricting my diet for about 2. In this whole time line I've only LOST about 8 lbs (and that inconsistent, today I woke up and I was 3lbs heavier than my lightest weigh-in last week!)

I know that lifting weights means gaining muscle so weight loss can be a little slower - AND I know the scale doesn't show everything. Sometimes a bad mood can completely skew what we see in the mirror, so today I'm not seeing any progress. I've also had a bad couple days, work has been demanding so I haven't eaten as well as I'd like to. I've still been at or under my calorie goal - but I still can feel pretty guilty about a few beers or a sodium bomb fast food breakfast.

How do you deal with days like this?

I'm posting my most recent "flex" pic - because it's the one thing I'm feeling good about! Baby muscles are still muscles!cuopuregrnab.jpg

That sodium bomb breakfast will cause water retention. You have to try to ignore sudden weight changes, particularly if they are outside of the range that has been normal for you. TOM does it too. Keep focused, you're doing well so far.
