Hi i am wondering what is the best way to work out my active level that best describes me. I work on a furnace which involves a lot of walking about and tugging and pulling but then sometimes there are quiet spells where we stay seated for a while. I think if I can get my activity level right things will move for me? Been doing 45 mins elliptical trainer every day and been a 1000+ calorie under MOST days yet I put weight on after a week

Your activity level for MFP does not include your deliberate exercise this is added in your exercise log when you do it and adds extra calories to your goal for that day. only your day to day and work activity is counted in MFP , I would start by choosing active then see how close you are over the next six weeks average loss to your chosen loss amount and adjust if needed. If you use a pedometer or activity tracker below 5k steps a day is sedentary , between 5 -10k steps a day lightly active , over 10 k steps a day active , over 25 k steps very active .0
