My period is very accurate usually but this time I'm 5 days late. I know that when you're dieting this could happen. But at the same time I've gained 700gr for he last week. This annoys me because if my diet is not working at least my period should be on time.
P.S. There isn't a possibility that I'm pregnant.

The 700g gain is likely water retention because your period is due.0

In which case I haven't lost any weight which still means my diet is not working.0
-
It could be even more, I can retain up to 2kg around period time. It sucks, but it does disappear. It's not the best time to judge whether it's working. How long have you been doing what you're doing?0

A month tomorrow.0

I have lost 2kg since and now gaining some of them back.0

Very likely water retention, especially because you're late. Don't fret until it's come and gone.0

OK, thanks for encouraging me0

Last year I tried for a baby and I tracked ovulation every now and then you can ovulate late hence making your period late
Weightloss is usually only effects periods if you go into ketosis0 -
Honey, stop freaking out. I gained nearly 3kg in water during my last period and it was gone in two days. Water retention happens. We're women, we're sponges. The fact that you're freaking out over 700g (!!) concerns me a little.0

You'll probably find as well that you're just late because your body is adjusting to your changing diet. Some ladies get spotting during the month, some get a delay. And as the other ladies have said, the slight gain will be water retention. I don't weigh myself the week before or the week of my period because it's just demotivating. Weighing in every fortnight or so will give you a more accurate idea of your actual progress. Just be patient and confident that it will work.0

My body loves to bloat and tends to hold on to even more water during PMS than usual when I'm late, around 2-2.5 kg or so. Give it a week or two.0

I'm not freaking over 700gr. I'm saying I'm not starving myself so that my period could get affected like this.0 -
Is your goal to lose fat or lose water? Water retention at ovulation and around your period is perfectly normal. That means you could see it as often as every 2-3 weeks. Get used to it. It absolutely does not mean that your diet isn't working.0

Yes your period could be affected. Especially if you have changed your way of eating or if you have started exercising. It could be that you are shocking your system. You are only a month in, give yourself some time.0

I've never had spotting between periods and now that I'm eating less and exercising I have had three spotting days this cycle. It's weird and annoying but it happens. We are not built to be 100% consistent 100% of the time.
And yes, water retention during ovulation and at the time of menses is extremely common and even to be expected.0 -
I agree with the water theory. I'm a long-cycle person (36 day cycle instead of the standard 28, like clockwork though so not unhealthy) and I have been known to gain almost 7lbs (3.2kg) in a DAY in water weight around my TOM. So yeah, give it time, I wouldn't worry. The best part is when it's over watching that scale weight fall off to lower than it was before you started retaining water:)0

I "gained" 5.6 pounds during my cycle. I weigh daily it came on in a couple days before it started. Stayed for about 6 days then went away... plus my 2 pound loss. Make sure your logging and weighing your food.0
