Thinking about doing a small goal rewards thing. An example would be like every 5lbs lost, reward myself. But trying to think of non-food ones is posing to be difficult because I can't thibk of anything!
Anyone do this and what are some suggestions?

When I hit a milestone I plan on rewarding myself with things that will further my weightloss journey. So things like new tennis shoes, a good sports bra, weights, gym membership...0
-
I have a reward chart posted on my motivation board. I hit 30lbs lost and got a very expensive pedi. Next up is new kicks at 35lb. 40lbs is 3 new outfits and 45lbs is a new bathing suit for summer. Helps with the motivation as well.0

Manicures, pedicures, massages, a new pair of shoes, new earrings. When I hit goal, I'm going to buy the sexiest, most expensive pair of jeans I can find!0
-
Sometimes I buy myself books to read on the treadmill, sometimes I have to admit it's food.
(I currently have a box of girl scout tagalongs in the freezer with "145" written on them like a dozen times! Twelve pounds to go!)
But my ultimate goal is a colorful pair of asics, when I reach goal weight. Other rewards I've considered, for ideas:
clothing, nail polish, hair accessories, a new hair cut, some jewelry, a shopping day, a paint nite with my boyfriend, or a new bath and body works candle!0 -
Yeah, I buy gym gear. I post my running badges and swag on my bulletin board. I tell my children to get me a potted plant. I'm a sucker for flowers, and plants last longer. Bubble bath.
A hair cut never fails to help me feel like a million bucks.
How about a Pandora charm bracelet? There are cheaper charms you can get.0 -
Husband is going to use books as his motivation- buy a book online for every 10 pounds lost- he loves books. Me, I have used different things mentioned above- new clothes, manicures, massage, and final reward- new wardrobe!!0

Clothes/shoes, salon/spa treats like mani/pedi/facial/hair TREAT YO SELF0

This really depends on how much money you have to spend.
For a while, I was treating myself with nail polish and 99 cent iTunes songs for my exercise playlist.
I also treat myself with homemade, inexpensive spa treatments, like a salt scrub.0 -
I just recently hit a big milestone and treated myself to a 90 minute massage. Totally worth the hard work.0
-
Buy lingerie! Something really pretty to make yourself feel confident and continue to motivate you.0
-
Clothes, lingerie, mani/pedi, a new hair cut/color, tickets to a show or event.
I want my hair done so badly but I told myself not until I actually finish my cutting phase.0 -
Thank you all for the suggestions
I'm not in control of the money so buying a reward may be a bit hard. I thought about jewelry or something but i already have so much i don't wear.
But when i finally reach my ultimate goal wt (if i ever will) it will be a victoria secret bikini0 -
Do a home spa treatment. There are recipes for facials and scrubs that you can make out of things you already have in your kitchen. My daughter has me save the coffee grounds after brewing coffee to make a body scrub. The main thing is to do something to pamper yourself. You do not need to spend money.0

I saw this super awesome and cheap rewards board on Pinterest last night and made one myself!. You take computer paper, make a huge grid (4x4 squares) on it, and you turn it into a weight loss tracker. Each pound you lose. You 'x-off' the number you no longer weigh. Then, off to the side she made a list of goals and non food rewards as a reminder and motivation. They included buying a new phone case, getting a piercing, getting a pair of fancy jeans, and lastly, buying herself new cowgirl boots and getting her bellybutton pierced.
For myself, after 10 pounds I want taco bell, hehe. 20: new workout clothes. 30: new tennis shoes. 40: a few summer shirts. 50: summer shorts. 60: cowgirl boots. 70: new fall wardrobe. 80: indoor skydiving!! 90: hair professionally colored. 100: ALL NEW CLOTHES!! 110: a trip to Wisconsin dell's (water park) to show off my new sexy bod. 120: a professional photography session with my man and two dogs for a family photo!
If you need more ideas, let me know what your interests are and I'll help!

Even though I've just started to lose weight I've decided that when I reach my goal of 160 lbs I'm going to go skydiving again. I've been once before and had a great time. In the meantime I'm going to reward myself when I lose twenty pounds with a rock hounding trip. I make jewelry from stones and want to get some new material to work with. At forty pounds lost I plan to buy a nice piece of jewelry for myself.0

Thanks for this post!
I'm always rewarding myself with food, it's nice to know there are other things available.0 -
i use my goals as an opportunity to help me cut back on a bad habit I have of buying way too many video games even though I don't have enough time to play them. I now tie new game purchases to goals. It's been helpful on both ends of things for me.0

When I weigh less than my husband, we are going to take an acroyoga class together0

This is great to read. I always start a weight loss trend and give it up before the week is over. I'm really sticking with it this time (going strong on week 2) and I haven't thought about rewarding myself at a milestone. Probably because I never reached them before and didn't expect to this time. For every 5lbs down, I will probably buy myself skmething like clothes or sun glasses.0

I stopped eating out when I began this journy in January. When I lost 20... I had saved enough money to buy an activity tracker. Its a lot of fun.
Then I joined a fitness change at work. My coworkers dropped out; I won right ad I hit 30 lost. Bought a smart rope (a digital jump rope)
Find things to make your fitness new and exciting. Do a race, get new gear or clothes. Enjoy!0 -
New make up, jewelry, pedicure, nice bra.

clothing!

Smaller rewards would be Mani/pedis, clothing, shoes, and milkshakes0
-
Yep. My 70 pound loss reward was a Fitbit. 100 pound is all the accessories I need to do a gel manicure at home. ; )0
-
When I notice there are things I want, I try to put purchasing them on hold until I meet a weigh goal. It helps the wallet too! No impulse buys. My first reward was a pedicure, my second reward was pedicure items to do my own at home, now I'm looking forward to buying a new outfit or shoes. The last one always revs me up to workout... checking out those shoes or feeling pretty in the mirror helps!
