lower back stretches

I have a slight case of spinal sternosis that I am able to battle through when I exercise. The only time it really acts up for me is when I do the elliptical. I watch my posture and usually after about 20 mins-30 mins (I do between 70-80 usually) my lower back starts to get sore, but this leads to my gluts bothering me. I work through it, but feeling the gluts, more so than the back, is what makes the workout harder.

I have been told that the right stretches before working out and the same ones after can help, but so far no luck. Can anyone either suggest certain stretches that may help more of even if there is something I can before and after workouts to prevent that area from tightening up?

I get the normal responses from PT's and massage therapists- "come in once or twice a week and we can help you."- but I dont have the money to be doing that so often. I have also noticed after the last few chiropractor visits and massages that it didn't help at all when I did the elliptical workout. The back doesn't bother me during other workouts though.
