Battle of the Low Carb Diets

Does anyone else have a hard time deciding which low carb way of eating to follow?

Or do you have a way of eating that you know will help you to lose weight, but for some reason, you keep trying to find a newer or easier or better way?

I know that if I eat 4 oz. of protein at each meal (3x a day), plus 8 oz. of fruit for breakfast, 8 oz. of fruit & 8 oz. of veggies at lunch, and 16 oz. of veggies at dinner, and I cut out added sugar, then I will eventually start losing weight again.

Yet, I fear the sugar detox (it makes me irritable and my feelings and emotions seem very raw and open for a week or two), but I have detoxed from it already in February and can do it again. :)

Now I have been looking into Paleo and Primal and even Intermittent Fasting. It seems like I would be able to lose weight faster and even easier, but it also seems much harder because the carb count can't be over 25 grams a day, and I got dehydrated or Keto flu or something when I tried going Paleo, that I didn't experience when I just ate proteins, fruits, and veggies.

So if I know what has helped me in the past, why am I not doing it? :/ Why am I being so stubborn?

Paleo, primal and IF are not necessarily low carb. Paleo and primal may be lower carb due to the restrictions on grains and starchy vegies, but by no means are you restricted to 25gms carbs on them or for IF (unless of course you choose to make it that way).

Something to consider, perhaps the best way for you to lose fat is the way you intend to maintain in the long term. What way of eating is sustainable for you for the long term, which way of eating are you more likely to adhere to in the long term?

Calorie counting, lchf, paleo, primal, mindful eating, just watching portion sizes, limiting treats, etc etc...do what works for you, keeps you feeling satisfied while losing weight and sustainable for the long term.

    If that's low carb I'm a herring.

If you have issues transitioning into a ketogenic diet then additional electrolyte (salt) intake is the standard advice. Add a couple of grams a day, some find the bouillon or stock drinks effective.

Stay in the sweet spot of 50-100 grams carbs/day. All will be good.
